STUDENTS: You must make AT LEAST 3 comments on posts other than your own. Spread out the comments, do not be the third person to comment on a post unless each person has at least one comment.
Art 1 and 2: The goal of this project was to show a self portrait, not as they look, but as they are. Students were to represent themselves symbolically. Art 1 had to incorporate a mask, but for Art 2 it was optional. Art 2 also had to incorporate at least 5 media, whereas Art 1 had no minimum for media. They were encouraged to be unique, not make things that have been done before, refrain from logos, characters, and words unless there is specific creative purpose, not just to reproduce it!
Art 3 and 4 projects are part of their specific curriculum that is individualized for each student according to their level and interests.
HS art students will post their new work at the end of each project (every 2-3 weeks) to get feedback from their peers and the public.
CRITIQUE PARTICIPATION RULES
I moderate all posts. If your comment is deemed inappropriate, IT WILL NOT BE POSTED, and you WILL NOT receive credit for your critique participation.
REMEMBER:
**Be as positive as possible. Try to think about how you would feel if what you want to say was said of you. If it can possibly be taken badly, even if that is not your intent- rethink it!
**Be specific and constructive. Do not just say “It is cool.” or “ I like it.” Say what is good about it specifically. Vague comments that have no though, will have no grade!
**Don’t take comments personally! Everyone has different tastes and no artist has ever made anything that everyone likes!! It is okay to be different- I ENCOURAGE IT!
